3 Simple Techniques that Will Drive Traffic to Your Blog

3-Simple-Techniques-that-Will-Drive-Traffic-to-Your-BlogBefore I started blogging, my initial worries were:

Will my blog be successful? Can I drive enough traffic into my blog and eventually convert them into leads? What methods will I use to make it work?

Of course, now we know how it turned out. And I wouldn’t call it luck. I’m not gonna lie to you.

Driving traffic to your blog takes a lot of work, consistency and patience. You can’t just create a blog and expect it to gain a huge amount of traffic over night.

Trust me, it doesn’t work that way.

You’ll have to use the right methods and effective techniques to hit the mark.

Let me show you how.

#1 – Content Marketing

I’m pretty sure you’ve seen this phrase on the internet a hundred times: “content is king.” But have you really paid attention to it? The content of your blog is the main reason why your visitors keep on coming back for more or why they decided to put it in the “ignored list.”

A highly unique, relevant, informative and entertaining content is most likely to attract more and more visitors. It’s also most likely to create a viral effect on the internet. A boring, plagiarized and irrelevant content, on the other hand, has the exact opposite effect. It drives away visitors and hurts your search engine rankings.

Of course, you don’t just write a good content. You also need a good keyword research and a little HTML tags here and there. Take note of the keywords that your target audience is likely to search and create topics out of them. Remember, the key here is relevance.

#2 – Social Media Marketing

How are you using Facebook and Twitter? Are you just using both accounts for the sole purpose of social networking and simply interacting with your online buddies? If you are, then you’re not really using these social media sites to their maximum potential. The truth is these sites are ideal for link building.
You see, social media is like a giant pool filled with unlimited supply of leads. You just need to tap into it. And don’t just limit yourself with these two social networking sites. There are more of them out there: LinkedIn, Pinterest, Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Ping-O-Matic, etc., etc.

From social networking sites, to social micro-blogging sites, to social bookmarking sites, to social news websites, forums, and other online sharing communities – you’re never running out of traffic. Just remember to NOT spam these sites and you’re off to a good start.

#3 – List Building

You will need:
• Lead Landing Page
• Lead Magnet

Why do you need these two, you ask? A lead landing page is where your opt-in form can be found, where your visitors sign up for subscription (your blog needs subscribers, period). Not just a simple landing page; it needs to be eye-catching and compelling.

And that’s where the lead magnet comes in. A lead magnet is at the other end of the subscription process and often comes in the form of a freebie: free e-book, free webinars, free course or just about anything that you can offer for free.

Make sure that your lead magnet is of high value, something that your visitors will find useful. Otherwise, you’re not going to fill that list.
