If your prospects are not clamoring to join your MLM business, there must be a good reason.
Especially when you were so sure they’d grab that application form and put their signature at the bottom of the page.
Maybe they’ve changed their mind on the last minute. Or perhaps they’ve been contemplating about it during the business opportunity meeting.
I’m sure you’d like to know the reason. So to help you out, here are some common reasons on why people aren’t signing up for your network marketing business.
1. You oversell
Maybe your sales pitch is borderline annoying and you didn’t notice it. Maybe you’re already hyping the products or services you offer without you knowing it.
Now that’s a grave mistake. Not only is it unethical to sugar-coat the features and benefits of your business opportunity, you are likely to lose prospects too when they find out that you’re lying to them.
2. You don’t listen
Aside from overselling, you may have committed the mistake of talking too much and not stopping to listen to what your prospects have to say. This is especially true if you’re dealing with first-time MLM prospects.
Keep in mind that they’ll have questions about the products, the company, and the compensation plan.
They will be as skeptical as any potential prospect could get.
3. You’re too desperate
You think your prospects won’t see through you if you’re only using them as a means to earn profits? Think again.
If your sole intention is to make money off of the people and not to give value, they are likely to notice it and unlikely to purchase anything from you.
Keep in mind that your main goal – be it recruiting people into your downline organization or simply making a sale – is to give people the answer to the question “what’s in it for me?”
With “me” being the prospects themselves.
4. You don’t have enough passion
Tell me, who would want to do business with someone who lacks energy and enthusiasm during their sales pitch? If your passion isn’t showing, then it will be hard for you to recruit a prospect, let alone make a sale.
Remember that you need to have a strong “why.” It takes passion to be successful in this business. It takes knowing why you are in the MLM industry in the first place.
Just learn these reasons by heart so as to ensure that you’ll have prospects lining up your doorstep.
