With a busy schedule, it’s hard to get all things done.
You probably have a couple of tasks on your list that need to be taken care of.
So how do you deal with it?
1. Know your why
Does the task need to be done now? What’s its level of priority to you?
If it’s a project that you can’t afford to put off, then by all means do it now. Knowing the why behind the project is enough to give you the motivation and push you need.
2. Brainstorm
Does the task require research and data? Then write down your thoughts and ideas about the project while conducting necessary research.
This is especially useful if you’re working on a big project. Doing so will help you accomplish the task easily and smoothly.
3. Be committed to doing the task
It’s one thing to say that you’re going to do the task, it’s another to get down to it. It’s easy to put off a task and fall into the trap of procrastination.
You don’t want that to happen, do you?
So what you need to do is get down to it right away before motivation leaves you.
4. Work on finishing the task
When you start the task, don’t dilly-dally and work on finishing it. There’s no use starting the project only to stop halfway to give way to procrastination.
Instead of wasting time doing something unproductive, focus on the task at hand until you finish it.
The sooner you do, the faster you can move forward and work on the next task.
5. Don’t do half-baked work
If you’re going to do the task, do it 100%. Not 50% or 80%. Make sure that you’re taking it seriously.
Otherwise you’ll be producing low-quality work. And chances are, you’ll get back to it later on.
Which means you’ll be wasting precious time on a project you should have finished the first time.
6. Say “NO” to distractions
The only way you can focus on the task at hand is to block all distractions and concentrate on it. Give the task the focus it needs to get your desired results.
If you can’t completely avoid the distractions, minimize the time you pay attention to them.
7. Take much needed breaks
You don’t expect to finish a big project for hours without break, do you? So make sure that you take a breather every once in a while.
If you can’t do it every two hours, then settle for one for every hour.
Now that you know how to take action, then get started right away.
