If you think there are no rules to blogging, think again.
They may not be set on stone, but they exist nonetheless.
And they make blogging a lot easier and more convenient for you.
Want to know what they are?
1. Stay committed to blogging
Blogging requires commitment and dedication. You can’t be blogging today, then not posting for indefinite period of time.
With so many blogs out there, your readers won’t wait around the corner for you.
What you need to do is commit yourself to your blog and stay consistent. This way, traffic will come easy.
2. Listen to what your readers are saying
The best way to become a blogger and authority figure in the blogging industry is to understand what your readers want.
You need to listen to them in order to serve them better.
What do they want to see in your blog? What topic appeals to them the most?
These questions will only be answered by keeping in touch with your audience.
3. Read, read and read
The only way for you to be updated to what’s hot and what’s not is to read.
Whether it’s visiting other blogs, reading self-help books, subscribing to business magazines – it’s important for you to be “in the know” of what’s happening.
This will not only help you blog better, but also inspire you to write interesting topics.
4. Jot down ideas
When you’ve been blogging for a while, it’s a challenge to come up with new ideas.
But there are times when ideas come easy to you. Should you ignore them?
Of course not. If you can’t be bothered by traditional means (pen and paper) have a notepad app installed in your smartphone.
So whenever an idea strikes, you can jot them down and refer to them for your next blog posts.
5. Don’t strive for perfection
Don’t worry too much about typos and writing style. They happen.
As long as you proofread your blog posts, your readers will continue to read your content.
Striving for perfection and refusing to commit mistakes no matter how small won’t help your blogging efforts any.
It will only stress you out.
Of course, there are more blogging rules to live by. Some of them you’ll come across as you progress. And once you do, it work well for you and your blog.
But for now, let me teach you more blogging tips and tricks I have up my sleeve.
