There are many ways to increase your productivity levels.
All you have to do is learn how to do them.
Want to know what they are? Then read on!
Write down your to-do list the day before.
Walking into your work space without a plan for your day makes it more likely that your time will get derailed with non-important tasks.
What you need to do is create your daily to-do list the night before, so you will know exactly what you need to do once you sit down and get to work.
Build in as many tasks as you want, but remember to schedule dedicated time for each of them to keep you on track. If you need to prioritize, mark the top three items that you really really need to complete.
Don’t forget to plan each day the night before.
Tackle the hard tasks first.
You may find yourself wanting to ease into your day by starting off with the simpler or less demanding tasks – don’t be tempted!
In truth, if that’s your way of avoiding the toughest and most dreaded item on your list, it’s really just procrastination.
Instead, start with whatever task you’re looking forward to doing least, and enjoy the satisfaction you’ll feel once you’re done with it.
Give yourself a pep talk.
Doubting yourself can lead to negativity, and feeling negative about something means you’re more likely to avoid it. If you believe you are going to fail, you are pretty much guaranteeing that outcome.
Instead, find ways to motivate yourself and then make yourself believe that you’re up to completing a tough task. Next, think about the last time you triumphed over a challenge.
When you remind yourself that you are indeed capable of tackling whatever it is that needs to be done, you’re more likely to dive in, and less likely to procrastinate.
Minimize distractions.
This seems self-explanatory, but in this day and age, distractions are everywhere. If you work from a computer, as most do, there is the temptation to check social media and surf the Internet, among many other things.
When it’s time to work, work!
If possible, close your door and have a “do not disturb” sign hanging on the door so your co-workers know not to bother you.
Keep your goals in sight at all times.
After setting extremely big and exciting goals that you want to accomplish, keep them in sight at all times.
The main objective is to keep your goals in a place where you will end up seeing them many times throughout your day. When you glance down at your goals, your motivation levels to get things done will go through the roof.
